A Silver Sterling Necklace Complements All Styles

in Jewelry and Accessories

For some reason, gold would seem to be getting less and less popular. As a matter of fact, this is not due to a single reason, but to many different reasons – chief among them probably being the fact that gold is more expensive now than it has ever been. Gold has been hitting record highs throughout the last few years of the recession, because so many people have been investing in it as a hedge against the dollar. This is not good for gold’s status in the jewellery world, because it means that gold costs more to buy, and so jewellers will naturally start to produce less and less articles of jewellery that are made of gold.

In a lot of ways, though, this is a good thing. We have never particularly been a fan of gold – and a lot of other people seem to feel that way as well. The main reason that people often cite for not liking gold is the fact that it tends to monopolize people’s attention. In other words, it catches the eyes of observers far too easily – and then it does not let go. This is not a good thing, because it means that gold detracts from the other jewellery you are wearing, not to mention the rest of your outfit. This probably explains why gold is the bane of many of the world’s most stylish people, because they spend a lot of time accessorizing and putting together a wonderful miasma of colours, shades and textures – only to have their gold jewellery clash with it all, upsetting the perfect delicate balance that they have created.

It is for this reason, then, that we are suggesting silver as a possible alternative to gold. Let’s look at the silver chain as an example – when have you ever seen a silver sterling necklace, that most minimal of pieces, clash with anything else? It blends into the outfit and complements it, rather than clashing with it. If gold is bling, then silver is sophistication.
